Last week Associate Director, Stephen Rider, attended the opening of the Heathview Community Hub at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust’s Goldie Leigh Hospital.
AHP led the design of this transformative refurbishment project, reshaping a former Adult Learning Disabilities Centre into a vibrant, multifunctional Community Hub. The renewed facility now includes dedicated training rooms, clinic spaces, and a versatile area for community events.

A standout feature is the newly developed gym space, which has been occupied and developed by the charity Off The Ropes. It offers non-contact boxing sessions delivered by experienced mental health practitioners for people with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, Parkinson’s, dementia, and other neurological conditions. This is a UK first - the only boxing gym located within an NHS facility.
