We’re pleased to announce the successful conversion of the Heathview building at the Goldie Leigh Hospital campus from its former Adult Learning Disabilities function into a vibrant new Community Hub.

Delivered across RIBA Stages 1–7, the project evolved from a light-touch remodelling to a comprehensive refurbishment, including extensive underpinning works, and spatial reconfiguration — The design thoughtfully divided the space into functional front-of-house and back-of-house zones to support community access and operational efficiency.

Our team also acted as the Principal Designer under Building Regulations, ensuring compliance was embedded from concept to completion. We planned, managed, and monitored the design to meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

This is now a flexible, welcoming space designed to meet evolving community needs.

Oxleas NHS trust project manager on the scheme said:

“Steve has been an asset on what was quite a challenging project; his calm and knowledgeable approach has helped to provide solutions quickly and he has worked well as the lead designer to facilitate dialogue with the technical design team and contractor to help overcome significant unforeseen works on-site. This approach has been common with all AHP operatives on this contract”
