A new pathology facility for HSL

We’re proud to have supported the delivery of a new state-of-the-art pathology facility for Health Services Laboratories (HSL). A partnership between The Doctors Laboratory, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust -enhancing modernised services for the NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS.

The project involved stripping the building back to shell and core, followed by Cat A and Cat B fit outs across clinical and non-clinical areas. Key features include an automated laboratory, a CL3 suite for advanced research, new MEPH systems, lift upgrades, ancillary outbuildings, and targeted refurbishments.

Once complete, patients across three NHS Trusts and 250 GP practices will benefit from faster, more resilient testing using state-of-the-art technology.
