A contemporary addition for Queens Manor School

Work on the site of two contemporary extensions at a school in Fulham are nearing completion. AHP were appointed by the D&B Contractor to prepare the working drawing package for the scheme at Queens Manor Primary School.  As the existing school dates back to the Victorian period, designs for the stone clad extensions were intentionally contemporary, offering an interesting contrast on the site.

The scheme comprises two elements, firstly, the Resource Centre provides a large open space with a sensory room, meeting rooms, kitchen, cafe area and office space, with separate access from the school, enabling its use both during and out of term-time.  The Resource Centre is fully accessible and will provide the local community with space for a wide range of uses.

The second extension provides the school with additional classroom spaces, toilets and a sensory room.  This wing will be accessed through a fully glazed corridor from the main Victorian school building.
