The building has a thatched roof covering that was last replaced over 50 years ago and was in desperate need of repair. 

Specialist consultants assisted with the drafting of the specification and despite the building not being listed, Historic England were consulted throughout. We felt that liaising with Historic England on all aspects of the works, even if formal approvals were not required, provided valuable reassurance in terms of taking the right approach to design and specification.

Traditional detailing was used to match closely with the existing configuration.
