Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Value:

Watford General Hospital

Client:

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Watford General Hospital had been left untouched and had become aged and worn and was no longer functional as a clinical treatment area for such vulnerable patients. The West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust decided to invest some money in the refurbishment to improve the unit in both infection prevention and user experience. The brief was to redecorate the ward throughout with clean, antimicrobial finishes to provide a sterile environment while simultaneously improving the aesthetic of the unit to create a lighter, more pleasant feel for the infant patients and parents. We achieved this brief by implementing a cleanable PVC cladding with a woodland theme throughout each nursery combining bright happy colours with wipeable surfaces.
