AHP were appointed by the PFI provider Bouygues to provide a full design service for
the remodelling and refurbishment of the A&E department and admission lounge at
Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford. The design included for a new blue light ambulance
and admission entrance, including fully serviced trolley bays, new main A&E reception,
public waiting areas and support spaces.

The design was undertaken in close liaison with the stakeholder and focused on the
phasing of the work in a 24/7 department and the safety and security of the staff
