AHP were commissioned as Architects, Lead Consultants and Contract Administrators during late 2022 for a circa £20 million fit-out project of a recently constructed high bay warehouse in Leicestershire. The overall warehouse has a floor area of 19,500m2. It was completed in 2020.
The fit-out project includes a spacious training academy, spanning 3,844m2 across two levels, designed for the engineers' practical and theory-based training and development. In addition to the academy, there is also a Net Zero Laboratory (1155m2), a Diagnostic and Business Support Laboratory (503m2), a Smart Meter Laboratory (408m2), and a spacious environmental chamber that can simulate extreme temperature conditions for thorough testing of new products.
In addition to the general welfare amenities, the individual facilities are interconnected through a central hub collaborative area that includes both formal and informal meeting spaces, a coffee bar, vending machines, a grab-and-go coffee station, as well as first aid and prayer rooms.
Construction is expected to commence on site in August 2024, followed by a two-year building period. The project is aiming towards a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
