In 2014, AHP were appointed to act as Architect and Lead Consultant on the refurbishment of the Pharmacy Non-Sterile Manufacturing Unit and the CIVAS Unit at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead.
The Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit produces of a number of critical clinical products in a combination of unclassified and classification d clean environments, including:

A non-sterile manufacturing unit (nsp).

A terminally sterilised fluids unit.

A cytotoxic chemotherapy preparation unit.

A centralised intravenous additive service (civas).
-
A clinical trials manufacturing unit.
The project required extensive MEP services provision integrated into confined spaces within a live hospital environment, supplied by a combination of enclosed and external mechanical plant – all demanding careful and continuous coordination before and throughout construction.
